Gotthilf Fischer (11 February 1928 – 11 December 2020) was a German choral conductor. He was known for founding the Fischer-Chöre, mass choirs to perform mostly Volkslieder and popular music. They appeared internationally, including for presidents of state and popes, and in large size for the opening of the Olympic Summer Games 1972 in Munich, and of the 1974 FIFA World Cup. They sold more than 16 million records.

Fischer was de zoon van een meester-timmerman, die in zijn vrije tijd veel musiceerde. Zo kwam hij al jong met de muziek in aanraking. Na de volksschule in zijn woonplaats Deizisau te hebben doorlopen ging hij van 1942 tot 1945 naar een docentenopleiding in Esslingen. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd Fischer leider van het Concordia Gesangsvereins in Deizisau. Fischer overleed in december 2020 op 92-jarige leeftijd. (nl)
