The Great Britain road numbering scheme is a numbering scheme used to classify and identify all roads in Great Britain. Each road is given a single letter (which represents the road's category) and a subsequent number (between 1 and 4 digits). Introduced to arrange funding allocations, the numbers soon became used on maps and as a method of navigation. Two sub-schemes exist: one for motorways, and another for non-motorway roads. While some major roads form part of the International E-road network, no E-routes are signposted in Great Britain, or the rest of the UK. Due to changes in local road designation, in some cases roads are numbered out of zone. There are also instances where road numbers in one area are also found in another location. For example the A594 is designated as the Leicest

(de)

  • Is scéim uimhrithe í scéim uimhrithe bóithre na Breataine Móire a úsáidtear chun gach bóthar sa Bhreatain Mhór a rangú agus a aithint. Tugtar litir amháin do gach bóthar (a léiríonn catagóir an bhóthair) agus uimhir ina dhiaidh sin (idir 1 agus 4 dhigit). Tugadh isteach chun leithdháiltí maoinithe a shocrú, agus baineadh úsáid as na huimhreacha go luath ar léarscáileanna agus mar mhodh loingseoireachta. Tá dhá fho-scéim ann: ceann amháin do mhótarbhealaí, agus ceann eile do bhóithre nach bóithre mótarbhealaigh iad. Cé go bhfuil roinnt bóithre móra mar chuid de Líonra Bóithre na hEorpa, níl aon chomharthaí ar E-bhealaí sa Bhreatain Mhór, ná sa chuid eile den RA. De bharr athruithe ar ainmniúchán bóithre áitiúla, i gcásanna áirithe déantar bóithre a uimhriú lasmuigh den chrios. Tá cásanna an (ga)
