Houegbadja or Wegbaja or Aho was a King in the Kingdom of Dahomey, in present-day Benin, from around 1645 until 1685. Houegbadja followed his father Dakodonou to the throne and formed much of the administration and religious practices for the Kingdom of Dahomey. Because of this he is often credited as the First King of Dahomey.

Houegbadja war der erste Herrscher der Dynastie, dessen Herrschaftszentrum in Abomey stand: Er gründete die Stadt durch den Bau seines Palastes („Agbome“) inmitten des Festungswalles. Er soll ein weiser Herrscher gewesen sein, der von seinem Volk respektiert wurde. Er verordnete Gesetze, benannte Minister und entwickelte eine leistungsfähige Bürokratie. Dazu entwickelte er einen religiösen Kult und eine politische Kultur, die charakteristisch für Dahomey wurden. Houegbadjas Symbole waren Fisch, Fischfalle und Knüppel. (de)
  • Uebajá (em fom: Huegbadja), nascido Arrô (Aho), foi arroçu de Daomé de 1645/50 a 1680/85. Na tradição fom, é colocado como verdadeiro fundador do Daomé e todas as suas instituições. Suas origens, porém, são controversas, com várias teorias sendo criadas. Podia pertencer à dinastia reinante em Abomei vinda de Tadô, como filho do antecessor Dacodonu (r. 1620/25–1645/50), mas algumas hipóteses colocam-o como um chefe forâneo, que usurpou o trono e fundou uma nova linhagem em Daomé.
