Libertas France is the name given to the activities of Declan Ganley's Libertas Party in France. Unlike Libertas in other countries, Libertas France was not a political party in its own right. Instead, candidates from Mouvement pour la France (MPF) and Chasse, Pêche, Nature et Traditions (CPNT) contended the 2009 European Parliament elections in France under common lists branded with the Libertas identity. The candidates retained their membership of their national parties and the national parties retained their legal identity.

Głównymi działaczami partii byli Philippe de Villiers Niepodległość i Demokracja oraz Frédéric Nihous. 1 maja 2009 kilkudziesięciu przedstawicieli i sympatyków partii Libertas Francja wzięło udział w Rzymie w pierwszym europejskim kongresie stowarzyszenia Libertas, którego gościem honorowym w części "naukowej" był Lech Wałęsa. Powiedział on, że taka siła jak Libertas jest potrzebna w PE oraz wyraził uznanie dla intelektu i wielu pomysłów lidera ruchu Ganleya. Stwierdził jednak, że ma nieco inną wizję Europy i dlatego nie udzielił osobistego poparcia ruchowi, ale wezwał jego sympatyków do uczestnictwa w wyborach europejskich i głosowania wedle własnych przekonań. Hun belangrijkste onderwerpen voor de verkiezingen waren: tegen het Verdrag van Lissabon, voor het Fort Europa en tegen het toetreden van Turkije tot de Europese Unie.Vooral binnen de MPF ontstond onrust over de aansluiting bij Libertas. Tweeëndertig voorzitters van afdelingen van de MPF dienden een motie van afkeuring in tegen Philippe de Villiers. Libertas deed in diverse Europese landen mee aan de verkiezingen en had in totaal 600 kandidaten. Maar alleen de vertegenwoordiger van Frankrijk, Philippe de Villiers, werd gekozen. (nl)
