Allí se encuentran con un hombre vestido de blanco que anuncia la resurrección de Jesús (Marcos 16:1-6). Los dos manuscritos más antiguos de Marcos 16 (del año 300) entonces concluyen con el versículo 8, el cual termina con las mujeres huyendo de la tumba vacía, y «ni decían nada a nadie, porque tenían miedo». It begins after the sabbath, with Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bringing spices to the tomb to anoint Jesus' body. There they encounter the stone rolled away, the tomb open, and a young man dressed in white who announces the resurrection of Jesus. The two oldest manuscripts of Mark 16 (from the 300s) conclude with verse 8, which ends with the women fleeing from the empty tomb, and saying "nothing to anyone, because they were too frightened". - Dłuższe zakończenie Ewangelii Marka – 12-wierszowe zakończenie Ewangelii Marka (Mk 16, 9-20), którego pochodzenie od autora Ewangelii podważa część współczesnych badaczy. Zakończenia nie zawierają dwa najważniejsze kodeksy biblijne z IV wieku: Synajski i Watykański. Spośród innych greckich rękopisów zakończenia nie zawierają jedynie kodeks minuskułowy oznaczony symbolem 304. Minuskuły 20 i 22 zawierają dłuższe zakończenie, ale na marginesie zamieszczają scholion kwestionujący. Dłuższego zakończenia nie mają co najmniej cztery rękopisy syryjskie, znaczna część rękopisów koptyjskich i ormiańskich, nie uwzględniają go Kanony Euzebiusza.
