Willem van Ruytenburch, lord of Vlaardingen and Vlaardingen-Ambacht (1600–1652) was a member of the Dutch gentry and Amsterdam patriciate of the Dutch Golden Age. He became an alderman of Amsterdam and joined the Schutterij (city guard) of Frans Banninck Cocq. Willem was featured, as a lieutenant, in Rembrandt's 1642 painting The Night Watch for which he is now probably most famous.

Su padre era un comerciante de especias que tras hacerse rico compró una gran casa en Ámsterdam que llamó Ruytenburch, que también tomó como apellido. En 1661, compró la mansión de Buitenweide que le otorgó el señorío de Vlaardingen y Vlaardingen-Ambacht. Willem le sucedió a las propiedades y títulos de su padre en 1627. Naast kapitein Frans Banninck Cocq was hij luitenant van een van Amsterdams schutterijen. Van 1627 tot 1652 was Van Ruytenburch Heer van Vlaerdingen en Vlaerdingen Ambacht. Hij was de zoon van Pieter Gerritszn. van Ruytenburch. Op Rembrandts schilderij De Nachtwacht is hij de man in het geel. De titel Heer van Vlaerdingen erfde hij van zijn vader, die deze op zijn beurt had gekocht in 1611. Zodoende waren de Van Ruytenburchs niet echt van adel. Later kreeg hij een zoon genaamd Jan van Ruytenburch, bekend rond de schaking van Catharina van Orliens. (nl)
