- Zealandia, ook bekend als Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, is een beschermd natuurgebied nabij de Nieuw-Zeelandse hoofdstad Wellington op het Noordereiland. Het is in 1995 opgericht en heeft een oppervlakte van 225 ha. Het natuurgebied is omheind met een hek dat invasieve roofdieren weert en is begroeid met bos. Enkele diersoorten die in het gebied voorkomen zijn de brughagedis (Sphenodon punctatus), de kleine grijze kiwi (Apteryx owenii) en de kaka (Nestor meridionalis)

Copre una superficie di 225 ha, in precedenza appartenente al bacino idrografico della città di Wellington. L'area è interamente delimitata da una fitta recinzione metallica che ha lo scopo di escludere dalla riserva le specie invasive introdotte in seguito alla colonizzazione europea, onde limitare il loro impatto sulla flora e la fauna autoctone. - Karori Wildlife Sanctuary est une zone naturelle protégée à Wellington (Nouvelle-Zélande) où la biodiversité de 225 ha de forêt est en cours d'être restaurée. The sanctuary was previously part of the water catchment area for Wellington, between (bordering Karori) and the Brooklyn wind turbine on Polhill. The sanctuary has become a significant tourist attraction in Wellington and is responsible for the greatly increased number of sightings of species such as tui and kākā in city's suburbs. (en)
