The Type 037 corvette is a series 400–500 ton corvette type classes in service with the People's Liberation Army Navy. Unlike western navies, the People's Liberation Army Navy does not have dedicated patrol boats in its inventory. Instead, a large variety of corvette type classes, in the form of missile boats and submarine chasers fulfill the tasks of patrolling China's territorial waters. The Egyptian Navy operates eight vessels.

(en) 海南型哨戒艇（英語: Hainan-class patrol crafts）は、中国人民解放軍海軍の哨戒艇（駆潜艇）の艦級に対して付与されたNATOコードネーム。中国人民解放軍海軍での名称は037型駆潜艇（037型反潜护卫艇）。人民解放軍海軍は、1950年代後半より小型水上艦艇のファミリー化を模索し始めた。これは、駆潜艇や指揮艇、交通艇などを同じ設計にもとづいて建造するものであり、これに応じて開発されたのが本型である。設計面では、ソビエト連邦のSO-1型がベースとされている。なお、初期建造艇では、主砲はアメリカ製のMk.26 3インチ緩射砲とされている。 1番艇は1962年8月に起工され、1963年12月に進水、1964年3月より海上公試に入った。以後、1980年代末までに100隻以上が建造された。 (ja) 037型反潜护卫艇（北约称海南级，Hainan）是中国人民解放军海军自1960年代起装备的猎潜艇，该型猎潜艇是中国参考苏联转让的6604型反潛護衛艇設計圖改良研製，以取代苏联的SO-1级猎潜艇。1964年首艇服役后，在缺乏大型军舰的中国海军中，037型猎潜艇长期作为主力战斗艇而被大量使用，并衍生出多种改进型号，直到21世纪初逐渐被新型护卫舰取代。最终，本型艇及改进型号总共建造超过100艘，目前绝大部分已经退役或被转移到储备状态，有部分出口到孟加拉国，埃及，朝鲜，巴基斯坦和缅甸。另外，一个改进简化的型号206型炮艇，被出口到阿尔及利亚等国家海军服役。 (zh)
