Time in Maine, as in all US states, is regulated by the United States Department of Transportation. All of Maine is in the Eastern Time Zone (ET) and observes daylight saving time (DST). Eastern Maine has the earliest solar noon of the contiguous United States, and the portion of the state that is east of 67.5°W longitude is geographically in the Atlantic Time Zone, which is used by adjacent New Brunswick, Canada. Independent of daylight saving time, solar noon at the March equinox is approximately 11:50 in the southwestern part of the state, and 11:35 at West Quoddy Head Light, the easternmost point of the contiguous United States.
